Girls Involved in Representing Local Society
This group is a group dedicated solely to involve girls in the local area of Whalley Range and Bastwell. This area has a high proportion of young people from an British Asian background i.e.: Pakistani, Indian and Bangladeshi heritage.
Cultural beliefs segregate female members in society. This creates great deprivation to the female gender within society; therefore the starting up of a female only group won’t only include this sector but also is vital for the development of the thinking. This again will be a group of 15-20 girls aged between 13-19.
This forum will work very closely with Deaf Aware and Al Hayat Centre. Deaf Aware is a community lead organisation aiming to work with Deaf children, organising activities for them to learn through play.
