I’m sat here in our office on the 23rd September 2015 and I’m thinking about what to blog about that’s interesting and cool and funny and cool and exciting and cool (you see how I used cool a few times there? That’s what I want my blogs to have – coolness! Quite clearly by telling you this, my blogs will now lose any coolness that they might have had, hmmm, something for me to think about!) Anyway, I don’t think I need to introduce myself to anyone reading this but just in case you don’t know who I am, my name’s Jaffer and I’m the Operations Manager here at SLYNCS. I set up SLYNCS along with a young man back in May 2013 and we officially launched the organisation in January 2014 with the official launch launch being in April 2014. Often people ask me what was the reason for setting up SLYNCS? I’ll explore them in later blog (I want you to come back and visit my cool blogs!) but as a quick teaser let me just say that I felt we could offer something that was different to the existing youth service offers in Blackburn and I still think we do offer something different and unique.
Listening to young people is key to the development of not just SLYNCS but the wider community. I feel one of my strengths is not only listening to young people but also everyone else around me. If you feel that things could / should be changed, if you have an idea on what SLYNCS could get up to or if you just want to talk about general youth workery stuff then feel free to contact me. I’m also hoping to blog on a monthly basis so if you have any suggestions on what my cool blogs should contain then feel free to email me – firstname.lastname@example.org. If not then please keep checking back as we’re going to be updating our website on a regular basis based on your feedback and comments.
Until next time, I’m Jaf, thanks for stopping by.
